DescriptionOne of my favorite covers from the Ultimate FF run, and also one of my favorite issues. The issue begins with the team in various prehistoric eras. Ben punches a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the Cretaceous Period, and 50 million years earlier (which should have been more like 250 million years earlier, but hey, it's a comic book), Sue thwarts some Chrono-Bandits who are threatening to kill the first thing to crawl out of the ocean. The team returns to the present, where Reed Richards has discovered an alternate Earth and has been chatting with a holographic Reed from that universe. This alternate Reed has white in his temples, is married to Sue and has a son named Franklin. I remember thinking at the time, "Oh, Ultimate Reed has discovered the regular Marvel universe. How cool!" But when Ultimate Reed teleports to this other earth, the Baxter Building is in ruins, along with the streets of New York. As he is walking through the streets, he is encountered by a zombified Fantastic Four, and the Zombie Mr. Fantastic asks Reed, "Ever get the feeling you’ve been had?" And with that, Marvel Zombies had begun! Great stuff! And a beautiful cover by Greg Land and Matt Ryan. Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

There's a wonderfully soft quality to Greg's works. Reminds me of those gorgeous soft focus effects during the Golden Age of cinema. Nice pick up sir!

Great cover and great story! The Marvel Zombies issues are the only ones I kept from the whole Ultimate FF run. Really fun story.
Congrats on picking up this amazing cover Paul.

Wow, you're absolutely right! I didn't realize this was the whole beginning of Marvel Zombies! Also makes this a 1st appearance issue, which I can now put in the title of the description. Thanks!

Really terrific FF cover, with the four figures nicely balanced. I also love howRyan adds those soft bits of graphite shading, as they add to the realistic look of Land's style. Oh, and what's 200 million years between friends?

Suh-weet! Just a great face forward shot of a charging FF - that in and of itself is great. But the significance of the comic it's the cover too is big as well. I remember being blown away by this issue and the arrival of the Marvel Zombies. Zombie Reed scared me! And that's fun to experience in reading a comic! Congrats, Paul!
