The painter as homewrecker, amirite?
I imagined that the guy coming through the door is a rough character, maybe a gangster, and the painter has moved in on his girl. But it could be that the guy hired the painter to do a portrait of his wife and got more than he bargained for.

I'm all for women's equal rights and all but this is why I don't let my wife near the arts college.

Seriously, though. It's why I like the piece: the sensitive chap wins the girl (and will lose a molar, but that's amore). Leave it to comix to peddle such fantasies!

Really nice example of ELias's art who is underrated by many collectors.

I couldn't agree more, George. I think he was the best of the artist from the Caniff school (and I'm a Frank Robbins fan!)

Agreed! Elias doesn't get the credit he should. Meanwhile, VERY nice cover!
