Description

It's always a treat to dig through Ben Dunn's box of for-sale art at cons, you never know what you'll dig up for just an insanely low price. I was planning to get something new from him at the April 2006 Dallas Comic Con, most likely something pre-done. I saw he was doing con commissions and figured I'd give it a shot. I was still digging through his for-sale stuff and in trying to come up with a subject, I stumbled across some pages from the Captain Harlock series that Ben used to draw - perfect! I used to enjoy that comic quite a bit and I think Harlock has one of the best "looks" to him in anime, so it was perfect. I asked Ben if he remembered how to draw him and he said he'd drawn him *so* much back in the day, he was sure he could draw him in his sleep. No sleeping was necessary to prove the point - he cranked this excellent drawing out for me in very short order. Pencil and markers on 9" x 12" Bristol.
