DescriptionIn keeping up with Bernie Wrightson's birthday month,I've listed this other Swamp Thing page.I FIRST bought this page sometime in the mid nineties SDCC? Maybe someone remembers the year Mitch Itkowitz had a portfolio of all/almost all the pages to Swamp Thing #5!I happen to be passing by his booth and noticed people looking at this portfolio full of ST pages.I mean who wouldn't!!!All of a sudden there was a line gathering, so I jumped in.Jeeeeez... all I remember is people turning pages of these gorgeous panel pages done by Bernie and they were disappearing so fast, right before my very eyes and as each person in front of me got their turn!I agonized as I thought what if their all gone by the time I get to the front of the line...Well that's just about what happened! My turn came and there were but maybe 2 pages left you know just the crumbs so to speak with NO ST images on them.I was mortified and depressed to say the least and had given up all hope.I had almost decided to leave and thought to ask Mitch if he had any others.Well,as luck would have it,Mitch says "oh yeah wait a minute", I pulled one out earlier. My heart began to race as my expression changed instantly into what if,there's a chance here....And sure enough "How about this one ".Well,it only took me about a second to say"Great I'll take it".The "art Gods" had smiled upon me and granted my wish !Social/Sharing |

Isn't it the best when that happens? Mitch is a solid dealer. Great story and what an awesome page! (Swamp Thing piggy-back rides should be a ride at Universal) Huge congrats!

Whoa! Just Whoa! . . . My best friend was one of those folks who was in line ahead of ya, and he got 3 pages, one of which I still own. The imagery on your page is just heart stopping though.

I have fond memories of the old days when pieces like this didn't cost as much as a car. Great page and story!

Terrific! And a nice collector recollection that I think we all experienced, but certainly not with THAT level of a piece! Thanks for sharing'
