October 31, 2020... BOO !!!

A spooky Halloween requires a spooky Cardy cover. Here's a nice one by Nick.

I'm not sure if it really makes that much of a difference but I guess DC liked their cats leaping from left to right. So the art was flipped by the production department, no trade dress or stats on this art.

Nick signed and initialed the art. But it looks like someone didn't bother to flip Nick's signature and just mangled his initials. Oh well.

Wow! You have one of the best collections of Nick Cardy work on CAF! Not just the superhero stuff, although you have plenty of that, but also the quirkier examples of his work. Like this Unexpected cover with the terrified man running along a darkened street, trying to escape a giant cat! It's a superb horror image with the fierce feline baring its fangs and going for the presumably tasty human being. Love all the detail Nick included on the street, with perfectly pleasent looking houses lining a cobblestone street. Funny that DC flipped the image for publication, but they did a lot of odd things like that over the years! Anyway, it's a beautiful cover and a great addition to your fantastic collection!
