Description

Personally, as a hockey player, the imagery for me is great, even though Sportsmaster is a one-and-done character wearing a mish-mosh of athletic gear. But he is wearing hockey skates and firing off exploding pucks with a hockey stick on an actual skating rink, so it's easy to look past the football helmet. The CW Stargirl had him show up in this very outfit, which was cool as I never expected to see this character ever again. Nice title pun on "This Sporting Life", the title of the famous 1960 novel and 1963 movie.

As a bonus, the Robin backstory is pencilled by Don Newton. I had acquired the opening splash to that story, but sold it off as my Newton collection got too big and needed focus...wish I had that back now to pair up!

This was purchased at the 2nd Comic Art Live...a purchase I wasn't looking for but am very glad to have found. Thanks Josh!

It is a little odd to see the Aparo signature added as a stat. Anyone know of other examples where that is stat'd on? And I'm putting Tatjana Wood as inker, but I'm only seeing them as co-artists...would love some clarity on that!

Impressive cover! Dynamic and I like the arc of Batman's cap as he's leaping/dodging. Great stuff. Congrats!
