My first comic book purchase as a tween was issue 165 of Fantastic Four, drawn by my favorite artist George Perez, and when I figured out how sporadic comics on spinner racks could be, I subscribed, with the first subscription issue being FF 176.

So this cover to Fantastic Four Visionaries: George Perez Vol. 1, which collects Fantastic Four (1961) #164-167, #170, #176-178, #184-186, is the perfect artistic sweet spot for my happiest childhood comic book memories, and includes characters from those awesome storylines, like Marvel Boy (the original), the Frightful Four auditions (the Osprey! Captain Ultra! Texas Twister! Tigra! Thundra! the Brute!!), and the New Salem trilogy (Agatha Harkness! the Eliminator! the Salem Seven! Nicholas Scratch!).

Very sad when I didn't win this when it was in ComicLink, but happy to finally add it to my collection. Thanks to Nick B. (Nick - Barry - Matt - Hal - Namor) for letting me grab this one away from him.

Congrats - the art is in the right home although I see Impy in the upper left - so it fits one of my theme galleries now!
