My favorite Lieber hawkman image! This Hawkman looks like he's ready to kick ass!

This is a truly magnificent piece. Be it the well spotted blacks, the upwards camera angle or the hint of Joe Kubert in the inks, I love everything about this. It doesn't look like my other Lieber page I can recall, so kudos to whatever editor paired him with Shoultz.

Better than most Hawkman covers I've seen.

Killer splash!

he is such a great character with a rich history i wish DC would get their head out of their ass and use him properly. hopefully the Black Adam movie will be a big hit and he will be given another chance. I don't know if you read the last series that Robert Venditti wrote. He really did a fantatic job rebuilding the Hawkman history and it was geeting a really strong word of mouth but DC in their infinite wisdom canceled it. I have some of the trades if you want them.

Hah! I appreciate the offer, but it's not worth the money it takes to ship trades from the US to Canada. I can always access them here in any case, but thanks just the same.

But, are you saying you didn't enjoy how he was handled during the Johns era?

I loved the Johns era. He managed to dig out the moutain  of shit piled on the Hawkman charcter over the years and gave him structure  that was long over due.  This book was my top read every month. The art team of Morales and Bair just took this to the next level.

Gotcha, but you said you wished DC would get their head out of their ass and use him properly. So when did you think they weren't using him properly?

This is a really beautiful piece of work.  I get a lot of Pat Broderick vibes in the figure work.
