Description
The year 1991 was significant for two reasons: The First Gulf War and I finally got to choose the comics I wanted to read. I had been introduced to The Punisher first through the 1990 Impel Marvel Universe card set, which led to picking up a What If...? issue where Punisher guest starred, and henceforth, Punishermania was born. Issue #48 was the first Punisher title I picked which was part 2 of 2 of "The Brattle Gun." The short skirmish of the Gulf War didn't give Marvel enough time to stretch out more real-time war stories for the vengeful veteran, so this was Frank's only foray in the Persian Gulf. I found Frank Castle strapped to the biggest mutha-effin cannon I've ever seen, leaving me wondering how he'd ever break free. Why the diamond manicure, of course! This page instantly became one of the most memorable scenes within my personal history of The Punisher.
