Nice early Garfield when it was all Jim Davis art. As far this being the first appearance of Lasagna, I really don't know if that is true but if it must be among its first few appearances... This IS the first (and last) appearance of Lyle.

A friend looked up the first Lasagna appearance, it is officially July 15th 1978.
