DescriptionAfter kerb-stomping the practically Godlike Leader and looking to be on the verge of killing him, Devil Hulk is stopped cold by the one thing he can't fight...his overriding instinct to protect the child at all costs. It's a truly heart-breaking page which cuts right to the heart of the monster and the reason for his eternal rage, grief and pain. Al Ewing's epic run on the Immortal Hulk has been building up to this for 39 issues, and it is soul-wrenching. What happens next is horrifying and horrifyingly inevitable. This is one of two pages I absolutely had to have from this entire run - and I'm very happy and grateful to have it. The other page was 16, where the Leader/Brian Banner gives him his 'reward', a pat on the head as he declares, 'I love you. You stupid, stupid child...' It's more gut-wrenching and horrific than any other moment in the story. Whomever got that page, well done - you hold a piece of primal Hulk history. As do I. Anyone else wanting to dive in and procure a masterpiece from what I honestly consider the best Hulk run ever, get yourselves over to http://www.jadegiantcomicart.com/ and tell Dave that Marvelman sent ya! I agree - Bravo's really come into his own in inking Bennett of late. He really does the pencils justice, making the figures so solid and strong.
I can't praise the art and indeed the story enough for this run! Having followed it from #1 really pays back. Anyone not reading Immortal Hulk needs to check it out - by far the best which the Big Two are producing right now.

Thanks Bill! Yep, the art is really something else and the emotion of this page is one of the most intense ever. This is why Hulk is Hulk.
