Disney : The Sword and the Stone DVD Cover art

The Sword in the Stone Original DVD Artwork (Walt Disney, c. 1990/2000s). Based on a novel of the same name, The Sword in the Stone, was Disney's 18th animated feature film. In the story a mystical "Sword in the Stone" appears in London, with an inscription proclaiming that whomever pulls it out is the rightful King of England. Many try to remove the sword, but none succeed and the sword is soon forgotten, leaving England in the dark ages. This is a superb illustration showing young Arthur (aka Wart) pulling the sword from the stone. The art served a variety of purposes including video, magazine and book covers. I Have an 11" x 17" copy of the piece. The illustration was rendered in graphite over red pencil on 14" x 17" paper. Arthur's face has been redrawn and affixed over the old one. The art shows superficial wrinkling, corner fold/creases and edge wear with pinholes in top left. Overall condition is Good.
