DescriptionOne more Byrne for the day - Legends Collection TPB Cover by John Byrne! I remember Legends and it was a cool series that went through quite a few DC titles, but not too many. Legends served also as a launching pad for several new comic series, including the latter-day Flash title, Keith Giffen and J. M. DeMatteis' comedy/action take on the Justice League, and the villain-based black ops Suicide Squad.Albert Moy had this cover for sale, and what stood out was that it was not only a nice cover to the TPB, it was also the cover to the John Byrne HC Collection that hit a few years ago. Can't wait to have this cover in my hands on Tuesday! The villainous Darkseid has a scheme. With his vast resources, he will cause the people of Earth to despise and rebel against their heroes. Then he will be able to conquer the planet. That is unless the heroes of Earth can reunite into the greatest incarnation of the Justice League ever seen. This storyline helped relaunch the DC Universe in the wake of Crisis on Infinite Earths and leads directly into Justice League America (1987-96) #1, Suicide Squad (1987-1992 1st Series) #1, Flash (1987- 2nd Series) #1, and Shazam The New Beginning (1987) #1. I always loved how Byrne took efforts to differentiate Sup' and Shazam on this cover (and in the serie).
(And boo on DC for using this cover on the hc collection while not reprinting Legend in its content).

You can never have too much Byrne in your collection! Gorgeous cover for the TPB collection of Legends. Byrne is so good at capturing the true essence of each of the key DC heroes and has done that successfully time after time. In many ways, the DC heroes are who they are today thanks to Byrne. And this assemblage of heroes is quintessential Byrne!
