Description"The idea of a woman in a tight black jumpsuit. It's a lightbulb! That's a sale! I think we all agreed on that- it looked great. The design might have been by John Buscema or John Romita. Whoever drew the first story [in Amazing Adventures] probably designed the costume.* I think, though, that the costume was perfected by Gene. He made it look like there was a real woman inside that suit. She had hips. She had a body structure that was female, as opposed to a super-hero female figure. I could wax eloquently on the subject of The Black Widow." ~ Gerry Conway*[Note: In consultation with Stan Lee, artist John Romita created the Black Widow's patent leather jumpsuit for Amazing Spider-man #86, using artist Tarpé Mills' Miss Fury costume design as his inspiration.] Thanks, Max! What a great page! Love the flow from Black Widow's entrance through her attack and giving new meaning to 'in your face." And yes, an example of why we all fell in love with the Daredevil - Black Widow run when we saw them (it was as back issues for me when we were fortunate enough to find them from some kids who had them).

Wow, looks like someone is trying to put a book back together! And this has to be one of the best pages from the book. Love the Black Widow showcase, big congrats on a lovely Abel-inked page!

I shall always overcome! Not so much, Mr Owlsley. Black Widow is always good for deflating the baddies' egos. Awesome Colan work here on a great battle page. Congrats!

Thanks for including the Conway commentary - totally makes sense :) Great action page here, exhibiting nicely that awesome original costume, as Conway notes! Also cool you got "BLACK WIDOW" big and bold on the page. Congrats!
