Description

Daniel Clowes' pen and ink original art for the HATEBALL Special Edition comic.

Released in 1993 by Fantagraphics. 16 page comic, black & white with color front and back covers. Free promo comic promoting the Dan Clowes & Peter Bagge “HATEBALL” signing tour.

This art was also used for the "Eightball" Zippo lighter, produced in 1996 by “Smoke King”. Clowes is often noted for his offbeat depictions of oddball characters, and this art is no different, featuring a sweating woman w/antennae protruding from her forehead sitting amongst flames. Hand-lettered "Eightball" logo at top along w/Clowes' name. This art was also published in “Scorched Art: The Incendiary Aesthetic of FlameRite Zippos“ book.
