DescriptionWhen I think of Will Eisner the first thing I actually think of are his later graphic novels. Eisner is obviously a staple in the industry, and the namesake for the Eisner Awards, due to his prolific career and influence in the medium. His graphic novels that he did towards the end of his life/career have always stood out to me. These were all stories in which Eisner sat reflecting on LIFE, happiness, sadness, pieces of the complex tapestries of life, the "Invisible People", war, death, belief, hope, tragedy....everything. These stories were his attempt to share his glimpses at life and pass them on in the medium he loves so much. I would dare even call them his true "passion projects". When this man with noble intentions attempted to speak on behalf of aspects of Humanity he felt needed to be shared using the culmination of his life's talents....it rewards to listen. From the description of the original listing for this page: Title/date/description: Gypsy Lily has just seduced Morris in this dramatic page from “The Power,” the 2nd chapter of INVISIBLE PEOPLE, created by Eisner in 1992. She proposes that he join her as she sets up her fortune telling business away from the circus. Dramatic use of black and white, an Eisner virtue. Page 7 (of Chapter 2) on the art page itself and page 50 in the Kitchen Sink and DC Comics editions. Invisible People was the only Eisner graphic novel that was first serialized in comic books (three, titled SANCTUM, THE POWER, and MORTAL COMBAT) and then collected into a single book in 1993. Size/medium/condition: Blue pencil, pen, brush, and ink on heavy Bristol board measuring 11 x 14 inches. Eisner’s official studio rubber stamps on reverse. Minor white-out, otherwise excellent condition. Provenance: Warranted to be from the Will Eisner estate, which this agency exclusively represents. There can be no safer or more certain purchase of Eisner art. Social/Sharing |

This page is a really nice example of Eisner's later work.

I agree, I am a big fan of his "blended panels" style that he did a good amount of in these three issues of "Invisible People". The pages almost appear a single image and the panels openly flow/merge between eachother.
I debated between a few pages before picking this one. Ultimately went with it because of the "blended panel" style and that it depicts a moment of hope towards a new future.

Great choice, beautiful page by the master!
Thank you, had quite a debate on which page to buy from what was available. It really came down to this and one other page that I liked the layout/design a bit more but went with this one ultimately because it had what I think of as a "beautiful" moment. A hopeful one. Knew I wanted one from his later graphic novels which are what really had an impact on me.
