Description15" x 10" image area. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Secret Society of Super-Villains #7 Page 10 Original Art (DC, 1977). Rich Buckler and Bob Layton.Beautiful top and bottom panels feature approaching and departing perspectives of Hawkgirl in flight, with Captain Comet. Every panel shows them both, in aerial combat with a conjured dragon. Also included in the middle panels are Lex Luthor and Funky Flashman. Funky was a jab at Marvel's own Stan Lee. He first appeared in Jack Kirby's Mister Miracle #6 in 1972. Social/Sharing |

Stunning. Buckler really had a handle on Hawkgirl. He may have been my favorite artist for her during that period. And such a great showcase for her. Fantastic page.
