Description

Offered here is the original Jeff Hawke daily for H7002 by Sydney Jordan. This strip comes from the 83rd story arc called 'Star Maker" which appeared in the Daily Express from 20 Mar 1979 to 30 July 1979 (strips 6991-7103).

This story begins with a landing on Pluto but moves to an eerie crash site where we meet Fortuna, a "semi-bionic" creature with an organic, human brain, and a synthetic body. She was named after the asteroid on which she was found and Hawke soon discovered she had psi powers. This daily shows a nice space scene and images of typical Jordan aliens from this time period.

The original is rendered in pen, brush, and ink with zip-a-tone. It has an image area of 15 x 4.25" on a larger (16.5 x 5.5") piece of 4-ply artboard. The art was done 50 years ago but is in excellent shape; do note that the word balloons were added during production and have discolored some. The original has been signed by Sydney in the lower right; he has also put story notes on the verso.
