More of my, I Don't Need eBay lisitings.

Offered here is an original Jeff Hawke daily (H2525) by Sydney Jordan. This strip comes from the story 'The Ambassadors" which appeared in the Daily Express from 8 April 1962 to 13 July 1962 (H2495-H2578).

One of the things Sydney and writer Willie Patterson did was to take Jeff Hawke to "curious" situations where he had to think out of the box. In this story, a spaceship lands and when officials from Earth go to meet the occupants, out fly the Ambassadors. Two owls. These owls have some very special talents and are not ones to tolerate stupidity... to be dealt with be a quick kerfluffle. In this daily, which is rather early in the story, the Ambassadors wish to speak to representatives of the UK government. Jeff Hawke is tasked with driving them through London explaining that "even the astronomer royal doesn't believe in things from outer space".

The original is rendered in pen, brush, and ink. It has an image area of 15 x 4.25" on a larger (16.5 x 5.5") piece of 4-ply artboard. The art was done 58 years ago but is in excellent shape and has been signed by Sydney in the lower right; he has also put story notes and signed the daily again on the verso.
