Description

Tom Reilly is such an amazing talent! For me this DPS perfectly captures the sense of wonderment of superheroes. The book itself is about the struggles of a young Cyclops & him finding his identity & purpose. Here he is inspired by seeing the FF take on Namor (the battle that took place back in the classic Fantastic Four #4). Tom’s techniques on display are exceptionally fun to study up close, specifically his work on Thing & Torch, he’s a natural at rendering these characters! Tom process is creating the layout/pencils digitally and then printing out & inking over.

Whooaaa! Wonderful DPS! Love the huge battle scene, especially the Thing! And I love the small panels across the bottom showing us the young Cyclops taking it all in! Congrats on a fabulous pick-up!

Don't ask me why, and this was completely unplanned, but was just looking through my own gallery and noticed I never responded, so here we are exactly one year later! Haha Thanks for the kind words in regards to this piece. It was one that immediately spoke to me as one I needed to own. I've since been able to pick up another piece from Tom (Thing #1 cover) because I just love how he draws Ben. His art really does evoke a wonderfully feeling of nostalgia. Just some beautiful stuff!
