DescriptionMy "Week of Quirk" hit new levels of quirkiness when my first post (a 1995 Sonic The Hedgehog cover where he is being mourned in front of a huge statue of himself) generated a bunch of comments that suggested I might have had a hand in his demise. Now, I know it was all done in good fun, and I got some good chuckles out of it, but for some reason, I feel the need to clear my good name. Why not? I mean, it is "Quirk Week" after all. So, here is a 1997 cover, which came out a full TWO years after that 1995 "Death" cover I posted two nights ago), which shows that Sonic is very much alive. He's aliiiiiiiiiive! And no, he's NOT a clone. John C, I'm talking to you. (I know you're already thinking of ways to poke holes in my proof of innocence). Anyway ... I love how super detailed the image is. And that robot bird with the wing that looks like a piano keyboard is very cool too. Tomorrow I'll be back with more silliness. Oh, and check out the additional pic of the cover with an overlay with some extra artistic effects. Social/Sharing |

First you shark him at the tables putting him in financial ruins. Then when he can't pay you take all his gold rings (explains your art collection). Then you whack him. And now this. You have gone to far.
I mean just look at them eyes. Cold. Yep.
You had him stuffed and mounted and are now making royalties from his poor blue corpse posing him for future books. Great coverup but they don't call me Sea Magpie for nothing.
Time to change the avatar Paul.
We are know you really Doctor Ivo Robotnik.

Hahahahahh! I do love your imagination. All I'll say is ... If I *were* Doctor Ivo Robotnik, I'd hire you because of the twisted way your mind works.

Oh man, so he IS ALIVE?! I have been inconsolable for the last few days. I can finally move on and try to heal.

Okay, I was about to ask you, how do we know this isn't a clone of the real Sonic? But before posting the comment, I scrolled back up and decided to read your description first. You SAY this isn't a clone, but how do YOU know? Anyway, kudos to Spaz, because this may be the most insane amount of detail ever drawn on an animation style cover!

John C is clearly on to something. His logic is airtight. AIRTIGHT, I SAY!! That is clearly an imposter, Paul. Proof of life, or we're calling the robocops. ROBOCOPS!!! In the spirit of our old, non-murderous comity, I will say this is a great cover with a crazy amount of detail, and I like it a lot. Congrats?

"He's aliiiiive!!!!" Let's all let out a collective SIGH. Great image here, Paul. I like the super cartoony Sonic vs. the straighter super detailed lines of the backgound. Really makes the Hedgehog pop! Congrats!
