DescriptionAmazing Spider-Man #400 stood out as a classic Spidey story in the 90's. There were so many heartfelt moments packed in this gem; May finding out MJ was pregnant, May revealing she knew Peter was Spiderman on top of Empire State building and finally the death of May. Her passing away while Peter recites Peter Pan, which she used to read to him was brilliantly handled by J.M.De Matteis and Bagley's take on Peter's expression as he puts on a brave face with tears trickling down was devastatingly well done.Aunt May's death may not be as significant as Gwen or Ben Parker's passing, but emotionally this one hit just as hard. (I realize this was retconned at some point and I have avoided reading those storylines, to me this was the perfect send off for May). Social/Sharing |

Congrats on a wonderful, poignant page! It's a shame this stuff has been retconned so many times in the intervening years.

Even Ben Reilly was outside the window for this. Still hits like a gut punch. You'd never believe it can actually happen as she was the hardest woman to kill for decades.

A moving moment, later ruined By Marvel. They ruin so much. I gave up on reading Spider-Man, after reading it for over thirty years, because of such nonsense. Their dead rise more readily than zombies.
