2nd Appearance of Sandman (Garrett Sanford)!

The Bronze age Sandman #1 (the last collaboration between greats Joe Simon and Jack Kirby) was a surprise hit for DC Comics (at the time) and introduced a new Sandman character to the DC Universe in Garrett Sanford who took on the moniker as a tribute to the Golden Age DC character/version as well as the story plot point of "Project Sandman".

Ernie Chan and Mike Royer stepped in for Kirby as interior artists team on issue 2 and 3. Kirby later returned to finish the run in issues 4-6 before the series was ultimately cancelled.

In this title splash page / 2nd appearance of the character, the great Ernie Chan did his best Kirby impression and Mike Royer inked over Ernie's pencils
