DescriptionIt took me a long time to pull the trigger on this. Disney concept art wasn't a market I was familiar with. So I watched. And waited. And watched some more. If I'd just pulled the trigger when I first got interested, I could have saved a lot of money. (And probably have a couple more pieces by now.)Eyvind Earle was a favorite of mine before I even knew the name. I've long been a fan of the style he brought to Sleeping Beauty, so once I learned who he was, I knew I needed something by him for my wall. Eventually, I learned that he also worked on my wife's favorite Disney film Lady and the Tramp. So this piece seemed perfect. Gouache on board. Social/Sharing |

I have long wanted to delve into animation, but like you, just didn't know enough about it to confidently get involved. I'm a huge Disney fan and could easily go broke buying cels and animation drawings. But I recently had the good fortune of meeting Ricardo Delgado who did a lot of production and character design work for some Disney films. He is a great guy to deal with and really made it possible for me to dabble in that arena. Of course, much like you, I prefer the Disney classics. This a a cool piece from one of Disney's most beloved films. Congrats!

The hardest part is deciding do I spend my limited funds on Disney art or comic art? Focus is hard. The struggle is real.

You waited for the perfect piece! This is a fantastic example of Earle's work. And as much as I love his work on Sleeping Beauty, I have always felt like his work on Lady and the Tramp is just as great. Congrats on a beautiful addition to your collection!
