DescriptionBeto Hernandez page from Love and Rockets. At one point in my life I considered that I'd "grown past" comics, and wasn't reading or collecting anymore. It was the works of the Hernandez brothers, along with Matt Wagner's work on Grendel, that made me love comics again, and want to be a creator.Social/Sharing |

Wow, that's a seriously killer page. It's interesting that Gilbert so often writes the date of sale on his originals. Very convenient for future historians. 1986, huh? No wonder I couldn't find it!

I'm trying to remember when I got this page. That dedication was already written at the bottom, so apparently Dan didn't treasure the page as much as I do. I think I bought this straight from Beto? Would have been a long time ago. Mid nineties, I'm thinking?

For some reason I couldn't get into American Flagg back when it was coming out. I love it now, though. Too bad I didn't like it back in the days when I could have grabbed some pages at cheap prices!

What a dynamic Beto page. Love and Rockets came along at exactly the right time for me too: burned out on superhero comics but really looking for something, anything that might reignite my love of the medium. Grendel, L&R, and American Flagg did it for me.
