Description
There is a universe (Earth-3145) where Ben Parker became Spider-Man instead of Peter.

Of course there are tons of universes where Peter became Spider-Man.

But on Earth-91918, Peter Parker and his Uncle Ben BOTH got spider powers.

In this universe, 13-year-old Peter Parker got his powers from being bitten by a radioactive spider, and then later when Ben was shot in a mugging, a blood transfusion from Peter turned Ben into a Spider-Hero too!

This issue introduces us to the uncle/nephew team with a fairly dark & gritty story that explores a very different kind of family dynamic.

Spider-Ben, huh? Looks a lot more like the Geriatric Iron Fist from earth OU812! His style never really appealed to me, so this is a nice stylistic change of pace from Cully Hamner.

I thought the clone saga was complicated, and now we have Spider-Ben and another earth or universe, but I have to admit, I love weird stuff like this, so I have to say this is very cool and thanks for sharing.

What a neat concept. And I like that Ben got a golden age style costume. Very fitting. I dig the angle Hammer took with them walking up the wall. The characters are drawn in such comfortable poses, I had to look twice to realize it was a fire escape. The standing pose a always a great cover wall-walking choice. Cool cover! Congrats!

Beautiful cover, Paul. Great addition to your Spider collection.  The art style reminds me of Paul Pope and the twist on Ben being Spidey instead of Peter is, I think, a refeshing one compared to the endless variations of Spider-Man we've been treated to in the Spiderverse.  Awesome pick-up--Comgrats, sir!

Thanks for the great comment and the congrats, Steve!  The cool thing about this particular earth is that BOTH Ben and Peter have spider powers, which makes for a very interesting multi-generational Spider-team with its own challenges & unique dynamic, as well as new twists & turns.

Hope all is well with you, my friend.  We need to meet up at Phil's when thingas are back to normal and dine on some gourmet pudding.
