Descriptioni'm intrigued with eisner-award winning narrative illustrator jae lee's art that oozes darkness and gothic—akin to the style of the late king of macabre berni wrightson; in the early 1990s, lee was one of the youngest artist ever to professionally work at marvel comics;. from 2005, here is a published splash page 17 from batman: jekyll & hyde, no. 2; this 6-issue series, written by paul jenkins, is about a gotham city killing spree, where two-face is at the center of it; . batman's iconic frontal appearance is unnecessary here as it's entrenched in our memory; rather, it's a dynamic angled, triangular compositional style that's more focused on the brain-washed assailants triumphantly attacking a helpless, long-caped hero grounded at the base of this triangle; and that batarang embedded in the head is the exclamation mark to this eerie piece; . thank you to renowned art dealer/collector albertmoy.com for making this acquisition happen Social/Sharing |
