DescriptionFinally watched Wonder Woman 1984.I am not here to offer my critique. For me, a movie is basically a vehicle for massive popcorn consumption, so bad or good, I always enjoy myself (at least until the popcorn runs out). However, I will share this beautiful splash page from Wonder Woman vol 2 #144 where Diana dons the Gold Armor for the first time in the mainstream DC Universe. (This battle armor did appear before that in Kingdom Come #3, a 1996 Elseworlds story which takes place on Earth-22. Please don't ask me to explain that any further, because it is all very confusing to me.) But I looooove this splash image! Special thanks to P A! Social/Sharing |

So.....then you're saying you enjoyed the movie for all of the first 10 minutes? 😉
Anyway, it' nice to see you're so happy to get this piece. It's nice art, as Paquette (a local Montrealer, natch!) has been a very good artist for a very long time now. I like the armor, maybe because it reminds me of Hawkwoman? But I'm glad it didn't become a permanent thing, as it's definitely no "red, white & blue" classic WW outfit. Va-va-voom!

Wonder Woman dons Hawkgirl's wings, Captain America's shield and weilding Volstagg's battle axe!

Those multiverse stories can melt your brain. It came out in 96, but Kingdom Come is set in the future, so it's really after your 1999 page, but also before, but it's a different Earth...Yeah, what you said. :) This is a gorgeous splash, and a great badass Wonder Woman scene. I always dug her golden armor. I never notice how close WWs symbol is to Nightwings, until I saw it on that axe. Cool score. Congrats!
