DescriptionI seem to be fascinated with Swamp Things transformation, as I have another piece, a commission depicting it.It's a terrifying concept; man-to-plant, human-to-monster, reminiscent of Kafka with some John Carpenter mixed in. Which is why I love the gritty, horror elements and textures Mike Perkins infuses into his Swamp Thing, it's what made me want to see this piece in person. It just so happens to be the first full figured Swamp Thing image after transformation of the new host, Levi Kamei and the first time we meet The Pale Wanderer. Oh yeah, and the story is really good!! Thank you Mike & Ruben Social/Sharing |

Stright out of a Cronenberg movie, body horror has never been so graphic on the printed page by the massively talented Mike Perkins!

An exquisitely wonderful double page spread you landed here, Justin! The art is perfectly suited for the horror themed 2 part story, which really IS great, and if DC green lights a second season of The Swamp Thing, Ram V and Perkins already have big plans to bring back and develop the Pale Wanderer!

Horrifically awesome! I so dig the Swampy artists that lean into the horror of the character. I am an EC guy, so that sensibility kind of lives on for me through this title. Perkins is a perfect artist for this, and he's churning out amazing work (like this awesome DPS). Nice score! Congrats!

Hmmm. I don't know... I think Ram and Mike really could have done a better job of establishing from the start that this book was going to have a strong -horror- vein running through it... Stunning spread, Justin! Of the many incredible textures and wonders on display here, I think my very favorite is the textured "tongue" in SwampnThing's mouth in panel one. My eye is just drawn to it, and it's a really cool choice of Mike's to illustrate it like that. Love it! Fantastic DPS from the first issue, putting the "boo!" in "boo-yah!" Congrats yet again, Justin!
