Hans Kresse is the unrivalled most important comic artist in the Netherlands. The year of 2021 will be dedicated to this master; it is the year of his 100th birthday and Eric de Noorman turns 75.
The highlight of the Eric saga is without a doubt De Witte Raaf from 1954. Kresse was at the peak of his skill and made his strips on the incredibly imposing size of 17 x 65.5 cm!
A great work by Kresse from his best period. The strip is in very good condition and complete. Some of the strips from this story were cut up for international publications, but this one was not.
The strip has a light, barely visible fold between the third and fourth pictures. The strip was shipped like that by Kresse at the time. There is also a tiny pinhole where Kresse pinned the strip to his drawing board.
Ink and white gouache on paper, monogrammed in the lower right in the familiar way with HGKR in a catouche.
