Before Alberto Uderzo started his most successful comic Asterix in 1959, he made several comics (including Hoempa pa) and illustrations.

The illustration offered here was made for the serial “Sa majesté mon mari” written by René Goscinny, for the episode “Sa majesté n’aime pas les souris blanches”. This serial appeared in the magazine “Bonnes Soirées” from issue 1561 of January 6, 1952 to issue 1636 of June 14, 1953. This illustration appeared in issue 1612.

This work already shows the beautiful, flowing lines in the artwork and inking, the lines that brought him such great fame.

Originals by Uderzo are rarely offered.

The illustration is in good condition and has two small holes in the lower left from a staple; pinholes in the upper and lower right and the upper right corner has been folded. 32 x 25 cm. Ink and blue pencil on paper.
