Description
Barbarians have never been as adorable as in this illustration by Louie del Carmen. Picked this up from Louie at a convention. I always try to grab a new piece of his when I see him around!

Louie is great a conventions for these drawings.  Last time I saw him was in SF when he was still with Blue Sky.  I can see him busy with Skydance with how animation is currently going strong.

He sells his art for such bargain prices, too! And he's a joy to chat with.

Louie is amazing and this is a great piece. I could be wrong, but this looks like it might be Astrid from How to train your dragon. Pretty sure Louie worked on that film too. He and his brother, Ronnie, have so much appeal in there work. They can't do a bad drawing if they wanted to. Congrats!

Oh geez. She IS awfully Astrid-like, isn't she? And Louie did work on the film. I"m not sure why that never struck me before! Thank you!

I love this drawing. I think Louie was a director for the How to Train Your Dragon television series. I always seek him out at conventions. I have his Steel Noodle comic and Muse sketchbooks. He posts drawings on Instagram often.

I have Steel Noodle and the sketchbooks, too. Fun little treasures. Would love to see him do a full comic, but, I understand him having his priorities in other directions.
