Description
Brothers Roy and Walt Disney decided that the best way to satisfy the overwhelming demand for their dolls was to release the pattern to the public and let individuals make their own dolls. This was adhering to the stipulations of their licensing agreement with Borgfeldt that did not allow other production contracts. The McCall Company of New York released printed pattern No.91 early in 1932 and continued selling various patterns through 1939. I have pictures of printed pattern and transfer No.91 and No.142. Also pictures for the packages of Kaumagraph Transfers No.90 and No.796. The counter advertising standee is 13"x20". Printed in bottom left is "Litho in U.S.A." and in the right corner the date "3-1-33." Based on the doll design created by Charlotte Clark and Bob Clampett. Since I have not seen another I will label this NINETY year old Disney collectible "RARE". - A 1933 ad from THE PARENTS MAGAZINE shows Mickey and Minnie as seen above in pattern No. 91 designed to be made of velveteen, sateen or cotton in 8 1/2, 14 or 18-inch sizes.
