A brave lone Jawa holding a giant wrench stands ready to protect his pals hiding behind the door of their Sandcrawler. It’s a wonderfully whimsical painting by the late comic artist Greg Theakston, who originally had a completely different concept in mind for his card art. Theakston went as far as painting a prelim and the finished Princess Leia artwork, but ultimately abandoned this concept and developed the Jawas piece that became a part of Topps’ very first Star Wars Galaxy trading card series.
