Description
Wow this piece is exciting to me. And looking through my gallery you will see I own the next page as well so to achieve owning back to back pages from this Bronze Age gem is such a great collecting achievement to me as these two pages represent the true changing of the guard.. the fighting bantering bickering the tension between the original X-men and the new ones coming to be, They must move on and the awesome wolverine dialogue pushing prodding provoking threatening.. we see some of the earliest (only his third full appearance) character depictions of just how nasty and provocative Wolverine can be,,,and the classic “I never carved up an icicle before’ line no one provokes his fellow X-men more than Wolvie..as this early showpiece depicts just how his character was early on.

I love so many team members being on the page in this what comes to be an origin moment to what creates tthe new X-men team. Check out the other page in my gallery to see how the following page it’s the original x-men leaving..

Was so happy to be able to get this page. True Marvel fun and history,

Big visor Cyclops and Wolverine being the instigator of inner turmoil added so much to the team dynamic ushering in the new era.  Now you can see Cyke as more than a stoic leader with Wolvie challenging his leadership skills as a trope born of this page.  Cockrum's costume designs worked with all the primary colors clashing and signaling their identities.

Hey Marcus,

well said so clear crisp character depictions got us all to relate and get into it and straight up love it.. Stoic vs. Chaotic in the earliest war or words between Cyclops and Wolverine

This is a mega-monumental page, and to have two connecting pages from this book is astounding.  Huge congrats, I recall seeing this page go up for auction at some point, way out of my league and love to see it landed here on CAF site.  Amazing history and turning point for the early X-Men transition of the guard so to speak.

Now, now, now....do not buy all of these pages that will continue to come to auction.  Leave some for the rest of us mere mortals.  Welcome to the X-Men 94 collector club as the sale of Brad Johnson's X-Men 94 collection continues to build an even larger club of new owners.  His quest was a noble one to plut this book back together, but it was a Monty Python grail quest, never to be successful.  It is just so difficult putting complete books back together from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s after they have split up and dispersed to the hinterlands.  Having this two page sequence is quite memorable.  I wish that I could have seen these two pages in person at the LA art show.

Yes thanks man was great and fun meeting you in person and sharing collection pieces. Perhaps in November when Bechara runs his next art event I'll bring the two x-men 94 pieces if your coming..and yea the quest to put together the whole book is a monumental quest and well I'd only go for a great page the one recent on heritage i let go..with what things cost these days I'm more and more chosier
