Description

In the early 90s, after some years away from comics, Biz' Lobo books pulled me back in. I loved the absurdity of the character and Bisley's over the top rendering. Super glad to have this some 30 years after reading the books. Bisley had hoped this could be used as a splash in the book but they couldn't get it to fit in the rest of the story. Heritage had this listed as "unpublished", but thanks to a comment by Danny Cruz, I was encouraged to do some sleuthing. Lo and behold, I bought the April 1992 issue of Wizard Magazine off of eBay (since Lobo's Back #1 came out in May of '92), and there it was. Pictured attached.

Chalk up another one for the body count.  His skills are so ridiculous that no one needs to know how many he's finished off? Biz was the Main Man when he drew this.  All his swagger on display.  You knew what you got, take it or leave it.  Either way, he won't be ignored and you'll be back for what's next.

This did end up getting published actually. A cropped version with the background elements blacked out was used for ads for Lobo's Back.

Lobo the man! This Biz example is vintage Biz at his best on the character that put him on the map (for me anyway). Great pick up!
