Diamond in the Rough - Leo O'Mealia

I'm loving all these baseball references associated with comic art these past few weeks.  It's really getting me back into following both past times.  Great montage cartooning you won't find often in the modern age. 

I love how Leo would place so many great depictions of the game in a clever way. O'Mealia is amazing. Nice work getting several into your collection.

It would be nice to see a retrospective of his work. These are fun pieces, but when he set his mind to it he did some really amazing work his Fu Manchu work and the Action Comic covers are just an example I know of! I just don't know where to look!

I totally agree.  Have you ever looked up his Sherlock Holmes work?  It is very much "of the period" but truly great. Great level of detail for a 4-panel strip and he had some beautiful shading techniques along the lines of Franlink Booth.  He should be a rock star to comic art collectors...at least he is for me.
