Description

Detective Comics #1000 Variant Cover store exclusive for Friendly Comics. Pencils and Inks by Andy Fish. Size: 11" x 17" on Bristol

Continuing to share pickups from CAF Con May 2021 Edition (Comic Art Live online convention here at CAF).

Friendly Comics commissioned this variant cover for the anniversary edition of Detective Comics #1000, but unfortunately the store closed before it could be printed.

In Andy's words: "I intentionally tried to keep some of the stiff crudeness of Bob Kane's work as this is a different angle of the first panel appearance of Batman in Detective Comics #27"

I love the style of this cover and that homage to OG Bob Kane Batman and his first panel appearance in comics. What a cool Batman piece to add to my growing Batman collection. Too cool, and the price was right too since it ultimately was not published.

Andy was also nice enough to include with the package a fully colored signed print, a wrap around "make your own" comic book cover (as I like to have the published examples of the actual book) which was also signed and fits like a glove over a regular copy of Tec 1000, as well as a bonus sketch and great letter (not pictured in additional photos yet, I'll have to grab scans of those and add later).
