A Stunning ALL Original Peter Max, (no litho), circa 1992, with an additional original signed Peter Max sketch on the reverse of the frame. Rendered in “bright soft” colors, using watercolors, colored pencils, crayon and ink, Max drew a stunning pop art piece depicting a Sage with an Cane staring into the universe. Signed “MAX” upper right of the artwork. Executed on heavy paper, the piece is presented matted, framed and glazed in a stunning wood frame. An additional ink drawing by the artist is on the reverse of the frame depicting one of his classic boats with images in the hills of another sage to the right, and a tree overhanging on the left. Hovering in the sky above the boat is a shining heart. Striking piece.
PROVENANCE:
The art was purchased from an Auction House who was commissioned to sell numerous original illustrations by Peter Max with each piece being authenticated and vetted by the premier auction house. A copy of the original bill of sale, lot number and the description will be included with the piece, and will provide both provenance and authenticity for the art. The frame also still maintains the original Gallery stamp on the verso of the frame in addition to the second signed sketch by Peter Max.
Note this is NOT a limited edition, this is NOT a lithograph, NOR is this the common Peter Max mixed media one usually sees (which is partially a litho with added embellishements), instead this is 100% a one-of-a-kind original piece by Peter Max
