DescriptionI mainly stopped collecting this series after the first few issues, but have recently been going back to see what I missed. I admit I never heard of German Garcia until recently, but I really got a kick out of this page when I saw it and couldn't resist. The big selling point here is the great top panel with an animalistic Wolverine with great inking details by Art Thibert. There are also some nice images of Storm with some freaky looking character in the bottom panels. Social/Sharing |

Unfamiliar with this volume myself but dig the imagery. The top panel of Wolvie is a show stopper. Congrats!

Never heard of the artist until just now, interesting stuff though. WTF did they do to Wolverine though?!? It looks like they turned him into some sort of dog creature. Maybe whoever the villain wasat this time was tryingto experiment and turn him into an actual wolverine?! So bizarre...but in a "I can't look away" kind of bizarre.

The story is a bit confusing, but the villain turns out to be the Shadow King and I think the top panel is happening on the astral plane or something like that. Agreed that it's a truly bizarre rendition of Wolverine, but also strangely compelling :)

Hah ha, thanks Ted! I'm already confused, just as I remember being very confused back when that Shadow King character was first introduced. But yes, "compelling" is exactly the perfect word to describe that first panel!

It really wasn't the artists' fault. This was during the time when they were planning to kill off characters like Gambit and editors were trying to put in new characters like Maggot. This is actually from a two issue story that fans actually enjoyed. Visually tension filled and fits that 90's super detailed style. Thibert had to ink in every hair on Logan and he had quite a lot to do here.

I loved Garcia's art. He has just been anounced on a Marvel mini series after years (decades?) of absence.
Nice page which owes a lot to Thibert I'd say.
