Description

In 1992, Dave Sim wrote issue No. 10 of Todd McFarlane's 'Spawn'. McFarlane illustrated this guest appearance by Sim's best-known creation, Cerebus the Aardvark.

In 2020, Sim got the green light to issue a new, updated version of the issue, featuring an expanded sequence and Cerebus redrawn by Sim throughout.

This (like other pieces to be found in this gallery) is a preliminary drawing on thin tracing paper (much of it is likely traced). On some, Sim has drawn on both sides of the paper, much like the Three Stooges preliminary also in this gallery. This piece is only on one side.

Did not read the updated version, but Spawn 10 already made its point about publishers and creator's rights. We already have many more high quality creator owned properties on the stands today. The old creators still don't have any say or get money for ideas and characters that companies adapt to exploit in new media.
