Weapon X by Ramon Perez

At one time, seems like a while ago, there was a comics podcast I was a big fan of, called Where Monsters Dwell.

They broadcast over a local radio-station in Canada. I don't recall exactly how I stumbled onto them, perhaps through following Jimmy Palmiotti.

Anyway, there was a certain audience interaction, it being a radio show, and they would play ads for local businesses (like the comic shop Strange Adventures) and their local con, which, obviously sported mainly local Canadian talent.

At one show, among the attendees was Ramon Perez, and I arranged, through a casual acquaintance I'd made with one of the hosts (Monster Mike, to be exact) to have him pick up and ship out this commission.

I'd figured asking for naked Weapon X in the snow was a pretty obvious pull for a Canadian comics artist, but it turned out Ramon was unfamiliar with the BWS classic.

Regardless of all that, this piece turned out pretty excellently, conveying the lonely, rage-filled atmosphere of Wolverine in that time of his life.

And my eternal gratitude to Mike, of course, he's a real gem.
