Description
The detail in this one is amazing. The scan doesn't do it justice. There are so many little things that you can see up close. I don't know how Timm does it. Big thanks to Albert for sending this one my way!

Gritty isn't something I normally associate with Timm, but this incredible cover has it in spades.  Easily one of the most intense Batman pieces I've ever seen by Bruce.  You must've been jumping up and down for joy when you got this.

Timm pushing past his norms while retaining all that makes his art hum, can almost see a touch of Kieth, all around Awesome.

Gotham is on fire and only a grizzled Batman can stem the tide of crime and corruption.  Timm washes his measured shapes and lines with a Miller lens to show the weathered soul of Batman and his never ending war.  A war that has scarred and hardened his exterior which reflects the many traveled roads of his lore.  Timm blends colors to show those breaks and cracks on the face and cowl.

Love the use of color on the face. Greens, reds, yellows and blues. Advanced type of stuff that you see skilled painters do (and you don't normally see it in comics). NICE SCORE

Congrats! I've always liked this cover. I wonder if those wrinkles in the cowl are Bruce Timm's way of paying homage to the iconic DKR lighting.

Love the way the background colors help the foreground pop off the page. The textures created both with forms and with color are brilliant and really set the tone for the entire image. The Master of line is clearly also the master of the color wheel.  Congrats on your thousandth Bruce Timm masterpiece!

I love that Timm got out of his comfort zone and did a very different take on the bat.  Love the different textures all around!  Congrats!

Holy colors, Batman! I love the palette and Timms' choices here. Just gorgeous work. And I really dig how he used the blending for effect, like for a 5 o'clock shadow. It's been a long night on the prowl! What a sweet score. Congrats!

Stunning piece! I'll echo the comments about the palette, rich and a little unexpected that happens to perfectly marry the DKR depiction of Batman with Timm's animated series. Makes for a piece I can't stop looking at!

This one is the typical Timm size of 8.5x11. I always wish he would do larger work, but it's just not how he does his stuff. All the color pieces Timm does are this size.

This scan leaves me speechless; I don't think I could take seeing it in real life. I watched the DKR documentary recently and Timm talked about how it was a big influence on TAS. You can tell his reverence from the love and attention he put into this piece. Huge congrats!

Excellent pick up. HIs version and his desgins on the animated series are the best verions of batman and his villans imo. Great pick up - he does such a great job with markers.
