Description

Dawn McTeigue hosts an annual Christmas event with contests. In 2018, the winners got to choose a character for a 15 min quick sketch. 5 min to pencil, 5 min to ink, and 5 min to color. She went a wee bit overtime for a few of these, including this one. My character choice is/was clearly a foregone conclusion.

In 2021, this art was used for one of the VIP editions that Coffin Comics send out as every year as gifts during the holidays to some of their best customers and most loyal fans.

Skulls and flowers were the Ed Hardy look of the new millennium for me. A Lady Death tattoo in the style has probably been done many times before. Given the rules, 5 minutes of color on a mostly black and white character would have been adding backgrounds. That would have opened the door to other people requesting backgrounds.
