Blimey, that is a brutal action page! Kane outs everything he has learned about pace, space and storytelling into this one. It is a masterclass.
Kane's reference to Bond and Conan would probably be for the literary works and not the movie versions. The look and feel of the character is more James Coburn and Golgo13. He sees these having lasting influence and makes it his own.
