Superboy No. 83, Page 6 From First Kryptonite Kid Story 1960

I did not have a copy of Superboy No. 83 as a child, but my mother did buy Superboy No. 99 for me at the market (yes, they used to sell comic books at supermarkets). No. 99 was the second Kryptonite Kid appearance, so the character has always had some meaning for me. At the age of 7, the Kryptonite Kid had about the same effect on my psyche as did the 50 Foot Woman from the movie named after her. I used to dream that someone was pulling the roof off of the house in order to grab me from my bed -- fortunately, that did not last for too long after my first viewing of the movie.
