Interesting. The coloring makes it look textured to the point of a mosaic or a carving. Way cool.

Pretty nice. The mid seventies was one of his most creative periods and Linda would be his muse.

This is super cool - was the frame selected by BWS...also is this an early appearance of the BWS initials?

the story goes that the frame was a gift and then he decided to create something to put in it.

Lovely BWS piece. Great image, but also nice the see the Arts and Crafts style 'tiled' border, with thought having gone into each separate motif. Care and craft in this one.

I hope the story of him finding the frame and then fitting the art to it is true. The frame really is integral to the art itself, and together make for a visually striking whole.

Extremely cool and beautiful! It would make a stunning stain glass window.

This is so incredibly beautiful, Robert. I LOVE the story of "the empty frame", and what a personal and creative statement that makes this. Thought about making the "well, I'd re-frame it" wisecrack, but I can't even JOKE about that. The size of a baseball card? Absolutely incredible; amazing detail (love the white paint "dapples" on the mane), beautiful colors... Superb piece, Robert. What a beautiful pick up! Sincere congrats!
