Description
Cap 231 went on-sale Dec 1978 still remember pulling mine off the rack of an outdoor newsstand in Brooklyn during a visit to relatives.

"I Advise You To Put Those Pop-Guns Away, If You Don't Want More Trouble Than You Can Handle"

"Hold It Right There Avenger" - is it just me or was that said with an insulting inflection?

The stalwart Captain America get tested by this bunch of SHIELD agents.  Not just with that punch, but with how they try him with their verbal barbs.  Sal makes them very believable with how steady Cap is drawn and how the agents react around him in space.

Nice page! I love the shot of Cap in the lower left panel, stern and steadfast. Sal could always do a great Cap head shot.

I'd take that warning to heart, fellas. You're already down one hand to the SPANG! You don't want any of the KA-THOOM! Sal's run on Cap was so fun. He brought the good battles, as he does. Nice nostalgia find, here. It's pretty cool finding the pages you remember well. Big congrats!

Gorgeous page! Love how Captain America takes charge without throwing a punch. Sal's masterful pencils give Cap a kind of gravitas that lets the SHIELD Agents--and us--know who's in charge.
