DescriptionRyan Ottley - Amazing Spider-Man #23 p 4Very happy to add a quality example of Ryan's memorable work on Amazing Spider-Man. I've enjoyed Nick Spencer's writing throughout, but believe that his handing over the mantle from Kraven to the Last Son of Kraven was the standout moment that will be the run's lasting legacy. The first four pages from issue 23 contained no words, but that's because Ryan's art alone spoke volumes. Nobody does exaggerated emotions and gravitas quite like Ryan, and the Last Son of Kraven's mourning is such a perfect example. We have rage in the first panel, which features nice action with figures exploding outside the panel (no Gorillas were harmed - just a taxidermy statue). Following that explosion, we have extreme sadness, with dynamic inking and close portraits changing the tone. 11x17 on art board; Marvel Comics Social/Sharing |

This is where Kraven's son realized his father was in the Spider-Man costume. Key moment in that he has now inherited his father's mantle.
