Because... she's the Black Canary !!!

This drawing is on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. And it's on something like Strathmore / Bristol paper.

I got this a long time ago from John Cogan (via ebay) who bought it from Albert.

Black Canary was created by Robert Kanigher and Carmine Infantino.

Just looks to me as if Bruce put a little more work into this one. Really love the sultry pose and facial expression.

That's a great early Timm piece! What size is the paper? It's always a pleasant surprise when he draws on larger paper. Huge congrats!

Oops. Correction: the paper is 8 1/2 x 11, not larger than 8 1/2 x 11 as I originally stated. Thanks for asking. But it is definitely not copy paper.

No worries! It's just great that he used a thicker paper. That in itself is a rarity for Timm. Love the drawing! Congrats!
